Frequently asked questions

Common questions about CountOS inventory and POS software for businesses in Pakistan and outside Pakistan — including how the till keeps selling when the internet is down.

What is CountOS?
CountOS is a web-based inventory, POS, and light-accounting system for any business — shops, wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers, and other trades. It covers products, stock, POS sales and purchases, customer and supplier ledgers, expenses, cash accounts, and 25+ reports from one admin dashboard. It is built and supported by ZIIBAY SOFT for customers in Pakistan and outside Pakistan.
Do you serve customers outside Pakistan?
Yes. Anyone in Pakistan or outside Pakistan who needs inventory and POS software can use CountOS. We provide software, setup, training, and support worldwide. Pricing is listed in PKR; international clients receive a written quote for their country.
Is CountOS available in Pakistan?
Yes. CountOS is built and supported for Pakistani businesses — with local training, PKR pricing, barcode and print formats used daily in shops, and WhatsApp support. The same product is also sold to businesses outside Pakistan.
How much does inventory software cost?
CountOS is priced two ways. A lifetime license is Rs 125,000 paid once — the first month of service is free and staff training is included, and after that an annual maintenance plan is optional rather than required. The monthly plan for small business starts at Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 per month with a one-time Rs 5,000 onboarding fee that covers listing your products, setting up the counter and training your staff. The exact monthly figure depends on how many products you list and the type of business you run, and is quoted in writing before you pay. Larger groups running several branches are quoted individually.
Is there a one-time payment option instead of a subscription?
Yes. The CountOS lifetime license is Rs 125,000 paid once. You own the license with no renewal, the first month of service is free, and staff training is included. Support, updates and hosted backups after that first month are covered by an optional annual maintenance plan — if you choose not to take it, the software keeps working.
Does CountOS POS work when the internet goes down?
Yes. The CountOS Offline POS is a progressive web app that a till installs once while online. After that, staff can scan barcodes, complete cash, partial, and credit sales, and record stock counts with no connection at all. Every sale is stored on the till in a local outbox and pushed to the server automatically the moment the connection returns — with a provisional slip number printed at the counter in the meantime.
Does CountOS support barcode scanning?
Yes. Products support barcodes, printable shelf labels, and barcode scan at POS for fast counter sales. USB barcode scanners can be configured during setup, and the offline till scans barcodes from its downloaded catalog with no connection.
How does stock costing work in CountOS?
CountOS uses weighted-average costing. When goods are received via POS purchase or GRN, average cost is recalculated automatically. Posted sales reduce stock and post COGS from the current average cost. Opening stock is never overwritten — every change is a stock movement.
What happens if an offline sale oversells stock?
The server is the only authority on stock. A queued sale that would push an item negative is still accepted on sync, because the customer has already walked out with the goods, but CountOS flags it for review so a manager can correct the count or the price rather than silently blocking the sale at the counter.
Which devices can run the CountOS offline till?
Any device with a modern browser — a Windows counter PC, a laptop, an Android tablet, or an iPad. The offline app is installed straight from the browser as a home-screen icon; there is nothing to download from an app store and no separate Windows installer to maintain.
How is an offline till secured?
Each till signs in once with a normal CountOS user and receives a revocable device token. Only users holding the pos.offline permission can register a till, the token is stored on that device only, and an administrator can revoke a till from the POS Devices screen so it stops syncing immediately.
Can we enable only some modules?
Yes. Many businesses start with products, POS, and stock, then add quotes, returns, expenses, or the full report set when ready. Role-based permissions control who sees each module, and offline selling is its own permission that you can grant per user.
Is training included?
Yes. Staff training is included: the Rs 5,000 onboarding fee on the monthly plan covers listing your products, setting up the counter and training your staff, and the lifetime license includes staff training along with a free first month of service. Enterprise onboarding is scoped with the quote. We document workflows for POS billing, purchase receiving, report generation, and offline till setup.
Where is CountOS data hosted?
You may host on your own server (on-premise or a VPS) or use managed hosting. Regular backups and HTTPS are recommended for production. Offline tills work against whichever hosting you choose, because they sync over the same HTTPS API.
Can we import existing product data?
Yes. CountOS supports CSV import for products, customers, and suppliers. A data-migration add-on can import opening stock and master data from Excel or an old system.
What user roles are available?
CountOS includes seven roles: Super Admin, Admin, Inventory, Purchase, Sales, Accountant, and Viewer. Each role has granular view, create, edit, and delete permissions per module.
Can accountants export data from CountOS?
Yes. Reports support CSV export and print-friendly layouts. Customer and supplier ledgers, cashbook, and expense reports can be printed or exported for your accountant. Sales that arrived from an offline till appear in the same reports once they sync.
Does CountOS work on mobile?
Yes. CountOS has a mobile-responsive interface. Staff can check stock, process sales, and view reports from tablets and phones in the browser — and the offline POS is designed for tablet and phone tills first.
How do I get a CountOS demo?
Submit the contact form with your business name and user count, or message WhatsApp 03068880169. We schedule a live walkthrough of POS, stock, purchases, and reports on real screens, and we can demonstrate the offline till by turning the network off mid-sale.
